I played this song while Lee and I were driving through the vineyards and lavender fields of Bolgheri, Tuscany. Every time I hear it now, it takes me right back to that moment—the warm sunlight, the scent of summer, the wind on my face.
Bottles from Barolo and Barbaresco. I love wine—not just the taste, but the experience of drinking it and sharing it with friends and like-minded souls. Native to Piemonte, home of Barolo and Barbaresco, Nebbiolo grapes bring a beautifully elegant yet powerful expression—like a ballerina with a kick. That terracotta hue, the savoury flavour layers, the fine tannins... it’s understated, complex and confident—my kind of jam! These are some of my favorites: La Rosa from Fontanafredda, Brandini R56, or if you’re feeling fancy, Gaja Barbaresco. Hope you like them too.
Shanghai. I spent six formative years living and working in China, and I fell in love with the cultural depth, optimism and can-do energy the city has to offer. At the time, I was working as a qualitative brand consultant and had the rare chance to sit with people and talk about things that matter—like love, commitment, and what success means—in a country undergoing rapid change. It was a privilege to get a glimpse into people’s lives—their hopes and struggles—and to witness firsthand the evolving values and cultural shifts we all were experiencing together.
DJ course trial session, three years ago. My friend Emily introduced me to the world of DJing, and I’ve been hooked ever since. You can find me on SoundCloud (Amy here), mixing Afro house, tropical house, house or trance. I'm also the proud resident DJ at our condo’s neighbourhood parties.
A tennis outfit. I love that its beautiful design doesn’t get in the way of performance. It holds the body well, absorbs sweat like a sponge and the skirt flows effortlessly with the movement on court. It makes me feel like Roger’s sister. Beautiful outfits motivate me to play more. Or at least, that’s what I’m telling myself.
Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi feels more relevant than ever. “While humans have made incredible strides in material power and technological capabilities,” he writes, “these advancements haven't necessarily led to a parallel improvement in the richness, meaning, or fulfillment of human life.”
That line stays with me. The now-familiar idea of “flow” has reshaped how I think about the quality of experience. I’m always chasing that feeling of total absorption—whether I’m painting, playing tennis, or deep in the rhythm of crafting a debrief. Every Friday, I carve out time to design the week ahead—minimizing context switching and creating intentional pockets for deep, uninterrupted focus. It’s my way of creating moments that draw me in completely.
I turn to the sauna and cold plunge. Growing up in Korea, I used to go to public baths with my mom, where I first learned a ritual of sauna and cold plunge. I always loved the feeling that came after—the way your body feels mellow, yet your mind suddenly feels clear, alert, and alive.
These days, I go to our neighborhood bath club whenever I need to boost energy or sharpen my mind. After 15 minutes in the sauna, plunging into 6-degree cold water is a shock—in the best possible way! Stress and anxiety melt away. Clarity bounces back. Energy lifts. If you’re still sceptical about the cold plunge trend, give it a try—trust me, it actually feels amazing!
My coffee set. Coffee grinder, filter cup and paper. Drinking intentionally brewed filtered coffee in the morning is the ritual I live by, and I can't part with it, even when I’m away. In fact, I love even more on holiday—slowly starting the day with a hand-brewed filtered coffee. The fresh smell of coffee, golden sunshine, and a beautiful backdrop—together, they kick off the day, in just the right way.
